Sandra Herbst (6-12)
Convention PreK-5
AM: Convention keynote speaker (tentative) -
AM: Possible STF session on Internet & teachers, some other topic (45 min - 1 hr?)
Lunch: Arcola Prairie Place
PM: Staffs break into subject areas or a few selected presentations (e.g. 3-way conferencing; triangulation of evidences, etc.). 2 hour sessions. Each session requires a moderator/facilitator & a recorder. Teachers must sign up in advance (can do this via web-based form) to help determine location. Teachers expected to attend session they signed up for - names will be available to facilitator/recorder. Sharing session format to be somewhat (but not 100%) standardized. Possibly expectation that some items be posted (division website? elsewhere) to facilitate exchange of knowledge.

School SIP Day & Professional Planning
Fri, Aug 31
Sandra Herbst (preK - 5)
Convention (6 - 12)
Similiar to Tuesday; possibly some variation in topics. Intent is for teachers to become more involved in the process, not just attending sessions with speakers determined by the convention committee. Hopefully make teachers more accountable & engaged in convention, and make convention more valuable to their professional practice
Comments:
I think the more sessions we have classroom teachers leading, rather than some other presenter, the better to help encourage all teachers to be active participants rather than passive observers
